Exclamation I don't want to drive a car, please help me choose my first Hybrid Bike

Hello everyone from Georgia, Tbilisi

I'm public transport guy, I simply don't like cars but now I decided to use bike for everyday transportation.
The distance from my home to work is around 5.4 KM, so driving bike feels comfortable without any exaust.
but sometimes my riding environment will be a mountain road...

My budget for bike consists of 6 X 100 $

for 600 $ my fav. choice right now is Bergamont Platoon 7.8 (2008 year), used but very good condition.
other one is Trek 6700 (2012), but really bad condition...

Bergamont Platoon 7.8

Fork: Magura Menja 85XC 100mm Lockout
Front and rear derailleur: Shimano Deore XT
Crank: Shimano FC-M542
Cassette: Shimano CS-HG50
Front/Rear/Rims Hub: Mavic Crossride Disc
Tires: Ralph Evolution New, 26x2,10
Control: Shifter Shimano Deore LX
Brake: Magura Luise (Air/Hydraulic) (160mm)
Handlebar: Tattoo Pro Lite OS
Stem: Stem Pro 18 OS
Headset: FSA Orbit ZS-4
Saddle: Tattoo Pro Lite
Seatpost: Tattoo Pro Carbon 3K
wight: 11,1 kg

Trek 6700
specs: 2012 6700 - Bike Archive - Trek Bicycle

Horrible Condition IMHO...

I don't want to buy 2014 Edition, new bike with low end Shimano/Sram details - for example Cube Aim Disc 26...
I prefer old used ones with better details (Shimano XT, Magura Manje 85XC, Magura Luise Hydraulic Brakes etc.

and one more question, why I shouldn't buy FS on my demand?
Is it stupid idea to ride FS in a city?
I'm newbie so, be kind and forgive me

Choose one that fits your needs, and is in good condition. You don't want to start dealing with changing components right after your purchase. Bergamont looks like a good deal. Just make sure that frame is not cracked or dented badly. Check it when the bike is perfectly clean. Rear triangle, and around the bottom bracket is a pretty common place for cracks to appear. Good luck with your choice, and what an awesome idea to commute on a bike!
