Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.

MSRP for the '06 Coiler Deluxe was $2,899. Coiler is a burly bike and a very worthy example of earlier long-travel trailbikes. It won't win you any cross-country races but it would be a very fun and ultimately capable ride. $1K probably isn't out of line considering, especially if it has been well-taken-care-of.

When you say burly bike do you mean that the company burly made it?

Also, would you buy the bike at that price?

or should i keep looking for something else?

thanks much

Sigh.

I wouldn't want to pedal it on fire roads but if you're going to be pointing down the hill more often than up, it's a decent old bike.

Why do you ride uphill?
A) To conquer the hill
B) Because climbing is fun
C) It's a necessary evil so I can ride down
D) Because the lift is being serviced

Whaddaya say?

My interpretation of what is being said is:

Burly=heavy and built to take some downhiller pounding

Its gonna make you work pretty hard for just cruising around and if you have some climbing to do, lets hope you got lungs the size of a zeppelin.

If its pretty cherry and you want to be a downhiller, as dminor says, its probably a reasonable price. From the way you asked this question, I don't think this is a good bike for you.

Thank you all for your help.
I passed up the kona.

I have found a 2006 trek fuel ex6 for $500.
My only big concern is that I see a lot of bad reviews on the rear shock. Would it be worth spending the money on the bike and then upgrading the rear shock?

how much money would i have into the bike then?

thanks again

Ride bike first if it breaks then replace it. Until then don't worry about it.
