getting back into it....
hey all, i have recently picked up riding again. after several years of not riding, because of injuries inflicted when i was into jumping my bmx bike, i decided to pick up a mountain bike. i am currently riding a specialized hardrock comp, witch i love. i actually found this forum though because i am currently setting up a second bike (i was given a frame) to ride to work. i dont like having to worry about my nice bike sitting outside where i cant see it. but anyway, im glad to be part of this community and i want to thank everyone already for all the great information on this site.

Hello brew, sorry to hear about the injuries (it does seem to be a common thing--just ask FitRider921, the moderator over at the BMX forum), but at least you are still riding the bikes! What kind of frame did you get, and what's your other bike?
Oh, and where are you located?

im honestly not sure what kind of frame it is. it has been stripped of all stickers except that it is a steel frame. it has what seems to be decent shimano shifters and d-railers, and the brakes are in decent shape it looks like. this is just a project to work on before i work on my specialized. but anyway, thanks for the welcome.

Projects are good! If it's steel, with good components, it probably doesn't make much difference what it started as...are there any serial numbers?

i asked my friend what the bike was, it is a magna cliffhanger. the frame is pretty beat, but i think im going to put it together and ride its till its dead, then salvage what i can. should be a fun project no matter what.

Magna's fairly low end, so your plan to ride until it's dead is probably a good one. You're right, it's still a great project, and it's still getting out and riding and having fun . Can't beat that...
