2015 Trek Fuel EX8 vs 2015 Scott Spark 940
So I've been eye balling a full suspension for awhile now and I got rid of my Hardtail, which was a Scott. The Suntour forks really weren't the best but somewhat got the job done but I never really liked them. I did however like the shifters, which were Deore. I know its not the best but they worked awesome and I think they got the job done nicely with no complaints.
Anyhow, I finally want to get back and hit some trails but I'm a bit torn between both models.
Now I know a lot of people are going to say to go with the Fuel because its a well known brand and sought after model but I did like my Scott and I saw the Spark 940 is similar to the EX8. Obviously they have little differences but I'm wondering if I should even take the Scott into consideration....
The Scott has an XT crank, SLX front Derailleur and a control lock for both front/rear shocks over the Trek but people will argue and say Trek has the unbeatable FS frame design at its best, etc....
The Scott is $3000 at my LBS and the EX8 is $2700 with a Tubeless set up at a different LBS.
BTW, I'm going with a 29er and I would like to hear your opinion on either bike, frame, geometry, components, etc.... feedback.

I can only speak to the Scott - I had a 2014 Spark 940 for the past year. It is a wonderful bike that was pretty agile and relatively quick (both my hardtail and the Spark were 27.5 lbs., and the Spark was faster). It's not a downhiller, but it really eats up the single track nicely and feels extremely solid and secure.

I own the spark 760. I wanted flick ability.. Got tired of wagon wheels. Just too heavy for me.
I test rode the Fuel but got the Spark...
It just felt right for me..not better than the fuel just different.. I am still very happy with my Second Scott bike....
Test Rides on single track trails count...parking lot spins do not............
