Total Noob to mountain biking
So yeah I know how to ride just from growing up but this really is the first time I've taken to actual riding. I just bought an 07 DB response sport HT with upgraded Shimano Deore XT's. My biggest question is pretty much, other than just finding a local trail and start shredding, what do I need to know. i.e. maintenance, trail etiquette, and the biggener stuff. I know its a broad question but maybe a little guidance from some more experienced riders would help. I found the bike on craigs list for 300 and gave 250. from what I hear its an excellent HT to start with and esp. for the price

Maybe get yourself some clothing type accessories like a helmet, gloves, riding shorts. Some basic stuff to take on the trail to keep you rolling like a few spare tubes, a pump and tire levers and a few allen keys that match the size fasteners on your bike, maybe a multi tool. Parktool.com has a repair help section that covers just about everything you'd need to do with your bike. Maybe check local bike forums for group rides in your area, might be good to meet some people to ride with or at least be shown a few local trails. Mainly just go out and ride and have fun....
