Hello all, I am new here and I think this is the place to start. I am looking to buy a bike that is in the $700-$900 range. i have Been looking at a few companies and my nearest LBS is a Giant dealer. any suggestions on a Giant bike? I am not set on Giant and I am open to anything)

I won't be doing anything spectacular to begin with, just a couple of small drops and some down-hill stuff. Raiyn told me to start looking into Hardtails, as they will help me to pick better lines and such (Thank you Raiyn

The Rainier is an excellent choice. Comes with Specs that I paid extra to put on my trail bike such as the brakes and rims. In short the bike kicks butt. It will allow you to develop as a rider and is a good platform for upgrades as you need them (due to increased skill or part breakage).
