Should i buy this bike (first MTB)

Hello,

I am looking to buy a MTB to get into better shape and do a little singletrack later this summer (colorad) anyways I also dont want to spend a million dollars on something that may get to sit in my garage....

so I am looking to buy used...

Found a 2007 Specialized hardrock sport disc, everything seems ok , he wants 200 for it... what do you all think?

TIA

good bike. if it fits you, and it's in good shape, go for it.

Thats the rub I am limited on used choices it seems due to my short stature... a 16" bike is difficult for me to stand on, the specialized is a 15" and fits... perfect

anything i should look for in the compnents to make sure it is all mechanically sound?

Thanks
Aaron

The fit is the big starting point, Check all the welds, take it to a shop that will look the frame over for you. Some Local shops won't look at anything they haven't sold, so you might have to look around. If the shifting is "crisp" and the braking to your liking (try stopping on a steep downhill) then you have a solid $200. bike that you can probably sell next fall for $200.
