So whats the scoop on Breezer bikes?

I have been looking at some different hard tails and they look pretty nice, (paint components etc...) Are they decent bikes all around? Anyone here ride one?

The Breezer name has been purchased by ASI (Advanced Sports International), which also owns Fuji, SE Bikes and Kestrel. I imagine if you like the idea of a rebadged Fuji, you'd find it a fine bike.

So was that sarcasm, as in Fuji is garbage, and if I like that then I'll be fine? Or is Fuji a decent brand nowadays? I've honestly no idea. Component wise it checks out, but I'm most concerned on the quality of the frame as it is a newer model. Thanks!

Repack Rider - Have you ever done any drops or small jumps with it? If so how high and how did it handle it?

Thanks for your .02

It will be just fine. There are brand snobs in every market. Short version, yes, it is owned by the same company that owns Fuji, does that make it a garbage brand? no. ( nor is Fuji or Kestrel garbage for said ownership, and the whole rebadged comment is complete bunk, do any Fuji or Kestrel bikes share a single frame design? ). It is no different than say Cannondale (Dorel, who also owns Schwinn, Mongoose & GT) or a handful of others. Let's face it, most of the products come off the same assembly lines in Taiwan, regardless of who the ultimate brand name is. There simply aren't that many bike manufacturing lines out there. I wouldn't get my knickers in a twist over any of it. Find a bike you like, make sure you have someone local that can service it and get parts for it if you aren't that guy, and get out and ride it. At the end of the day, that's the only thing that matters, if you enjoy riding it.

I think the only people getting their knickers in a twist are those taking umbrage with what I said. OP asked "what the scoop" was on Breezer bikes. I merely had the bad grace to point out that the parent company is a large broker similar to Dorel and, because of that, to expect perfectly serviceable but likely catalog Taiwan (or Mainland China-contracted by Taiwan) frames. Nothing wrong with that at all; that's just life in a global economy. I was just giving the OP the heads-up not to expect a Joe Breeze bike because it has his name on it.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that you were a snob, only that they exist, and all too often will hint around the edges that Brand Y is terrible because it isn't a boutique brand and get their knickers all twisted over anyone thinking their big brand bike is the equal to the boutique bike, that all too often comes off the same line before being shipped to the boutique facility for paint, and base assembly.

I guess there are some rumors that he's done a little bit of aggressive riding.
