Can you share a cue sheet or map of the route you used? Sounds like a great ride.

Wish I'd seen this sooner! Please share your route if you get a chance. I'm planning on doing the same trip with a friend, bet we could have made it. Are you riding back, or taking the train?

Unfortunately my Garmin died towards the last couple hours of the trip. All the data from the trip was lost. I am pretty mad about that actually. Anyways this is roughly what I did.

- Biked over the Brooklyn Bridge to the WTC.
- Took the Path from the WTC to Newark. $2.25!
- Then I pretty much followed these directions here. I definitely got lost at times tacking on at least another 10 - 20 miles.
- Getting home was a breeze. Took the Septa Regional Rail to Trenton and from Trenton took the NJ Transit to Pennstation in Manhattan. Then rode back to Brooklyn.

I met my wife in Philly so we spent the night at a friends.

Newark definitely sucked and so did Trenton. Everything else was pretty amazing. I'd definitely do the ride again with you guys. I am going to pick up a Garmin 810 which will definitely help from getting lost.

FYI, every year, on the Sunday before Labor Day, the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia does an organized ride from New Hope, PA to the Nu Hotel in Brooklyn. It's close to 100 miles. You can start in Philly if you would like, but that requires about 135 miles. Great route that mostly avoids urban areas until Kenilworth. Highlights include horse country of Hunterdon County, the 600+ y.o. oak tree in Basking Ridge, the Great Swamp, Union Park and the Port of Elizabeth & Newark, which is empty at that time. We end up riding through Jersey City and into Hoboken, catching the ferry from 14th St. and the riding down the river path before crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. The Nu Hotel is on Smith, not that far from the bridge.

Do you have to be a member of the club to join? I might take the train out and do the ride since I live right next to the Nu Hotel. Would be fun to do the trip in reverse.
