looking for nyc bike shop advice

Am going to be in the city looking to buy parts for several bikes this week, could use some steering to someplace where I can walk in and leave with some wheelsets, freewheels, etc. Thanks, -H

'Steer' clear of of Bicycle Renaissance, the staff are rude, obnoxious and arrogant.

I recommend Grand Bicycle in Maspeth

what happend at bike renainssance? if you dont mind telling us. i dont like to bad mouth bike shops but there are some out there that are really not worth going to.
