Me neither, any idea how we can follow up on this? There is contact info for Bike New York on their website... I guess that would be the best starting point, right?

I may very possibly be selling mine, but you'd have to pick it up at my parents' house in NJ.

I'm sitting on a boat 1000 miles away, and very doubtfully making it back in time for the ride.

Packet arrived yesterday.
Vest color is the worst of the past seven years. Looks like my 8 month old niece had an accident.

Well, I'm starting at 6th Avenue and Central Park South entrance just before 8am. At this point I'm alone, but would love some company. 420 ok.

That's where I plan to start, but I don't know when I'll get there. Hope to be across the GW Bridge by 7:30, and it's another 8 miles the bottom of CP.

How long should it take the head of the tour to get to CP? 20 minutes?

It looks like there's a 30% chance of rain on Sunday. Of course that could easily change between now and then.

When I did this ride in 2005 I got there quite early and it rained while we were waiting to start. Then it cleared up and the sun was shining by the time we hit midtown.

Well... Looks like for the second year in a row I won't be able to make it.

If anyone is interested in buying my bib, PM me your phone #.
You'll probably have to pick it up at my parents in Union, because I'm in transit now.
Although if you paypal me ASAP, I may be able to get mom to mail it Priority.

It'll be quicker and less hassle by bike. At that hour I'd say ride on 34th till Broadway, hang a right, keep on going till you see masses of cyclists.

You'll probably see groups of cyclists headed south as soon as you get off the train.

I'm Marshalling "B Starting Line"

WTF is a "B starting Line" ???? read on

I'll be there, I think and I'm pissed. Not about the rain, hey that happens but rather the BAD attitude of my ride captain.
They are are supposed to contact me, say hi, details of my job etc.
I of course being me, I emailed him 2 weeks ago and then again Wednesday to say hi agin because I received no reponse to the first.
I simply asked what my job was. I did not want to be standing around all day getting up at 4:00 am and then start working at 11:00 am. Been there done that, no more.

So whats the job entail, I asked. Response, "You will be given deatils Sunday morning".

HUHHHH?
I responded, "I really would like to have some idea".
His response.................... there was none.

This crap happens all the time. You have 30,000 riders looking for guidance and I should not be forced to volunteer my time when I could sleep in, go to Bear Mt
or stay dry.

I marshalled the MS Ny ride in October and it rained in the am. I went at 4:30, got wet, duhhh and it turned cold.
My captain did not show up and could not find another group to latch onto to help. So I road, helped the cycling challenged and helped out at the climb going up to the River Road entrance, always a bad spot for cyclists and cars.

If this was some charity event I would not care, but common this better work out.

Rob
