Dan's Delta Ramble, or How I spent My Sunday Afternoon.......

A change of pace today, with Dan Lanceoldstrong calling the tune.

50 mile flat spin in and around the Sacramento Delta area. No traffic (save the last sprint across the Rio Vista Bridge), decent enough roads, 2 ferry rides, great company. Even the weather was good enough - high 50's, no wind, high overcast. I think we got all of 300 feet in climbing, mostly going up and down the sides of various levee's.

Flat roads:

Delta house. It's on stilts because the land its on is below sea level, behind the levee:

Ferry No.1:

Up-river - ferry No.2:

Two peacocks, showing their plumage:

A bit of frivolity on the ferry:

Dan and Trish:

Rio Vista Bridge, prior to crossing. Lots of traffic, at speed - no real shoulder. Muscle up and sprint!:

This shot deserves more exposure. It's fabulous!

Sell it to a magazine or a calendar company. I am sure they can find good use for it.
And you can share the royalties with your patient, handsome model.

^^^ Yeah, I'm sure GQ, Playgirl and Architectural Digest would get into a serious bidding war for the rights.

You guys might want to think about bed bugs before sitting on stuff like that, how would you like to take some of them home.

With the goofballs I ride with, bedbugs are the least of my worries.

Come see for yourself sometime.

Those are awesome shots John. Rich, wish I could have been there. Oh, you guys may have invited me but I couldn't swallow the 300 feet of climbing.
