A Question Concerning Pro Female Cycling
I just was reading CyclingNews report on Giorgia Bronzoni winning in Philadelphia.
It occurred to me that I've never seen the podium award ceremony for female racers.
My question is are there Podium Guys delivering flowers and kisses?
Seems only fair...

There were podium guys that delivered the flowers to the top 3 of the men's race today in Philly. Not sure about the women. I didn't see the podium presentation because I decided to head out to Lemon Hill.

I watched the race on TV. Very good job by Philly with that event!

BTW, Giorgia (sporting her UCI World Ranking stripes) and some of her Colavita crew were tuning-up for Philly at our training crit the prior Thursday.

My guess is this is one of those double standards that doesn't cross-over. Men dream of a group of women surrounding them kissing them. Women dream of a group of women surrounding them and saying, "Girl, you look GOOD in those tight clothes. Where'd you get that outfit." Strip clubs for women aren't that common.

The podium girls are a great tradition. I always make note of which races/countries have the cutest podium girls.
