Yeah, although I read that Renshaw might sign with a new Australian team Green, or something like that.

You do realize that there are millions of people outside North America that follow pro races beyond the TDF?

Greenedge. Goss will surely go somewhere that will let him do his own thing. It will be nice for alot of those guys to get out and see if they can get results of their own instead of burning their candles up ever flat stage to pull back breaks for Cavendish.

There are quite a few of us here in North America. But sadly to most Americans professional cycling begins and ends with what Versus televises. The fact that most of the people in our cycling club here think that the Tour of California is a more important race than the Giro says alot.

I hope there's not a situation where the entire team ends up together but under new ownership / sponsorship. I'm tired of seeing the best team every year built up by one group's hard work, then sniped by the latest person with deep pockets.

Why don't you get a real job....and leave the frikin threads within the community/forum they are posted in. Do you get the fact that each forum has its own sense of community, that people hang out in and address posts to those in a specific area. Do you get the fact that those in the 41 forum have an interest in pro cycling and may want to discuss pro issues within the forum they are in. Are we going to eventually have a gazillion topic specific forums so you can spend all day on your pathetic power tripping thread moves. Jeeesh you really piss me off dude.

You guys are funny. Being new to the forum it's interesting to compare and contrast this forum to other specialty forums I'm on. One of the good things about this forum was that discussions are put where they belong by topic, and no one owned a forum to take where they will. It happens on other forums, to their detriment and eventually they break down because all threads eventually become political. I could see that here because there were NO posts about road-biking in THIS thread and I could only wonder if it would be moved. Moving to the appropriate forum it is the correct way to run a forum. Good on you, mods.

Your community********************?

If I was interested in road biking I'd look in the road biking forum. This is about pro-cycling pure and simple.

Yeah, but a lot of us post together in certain cliques, and don't go into the other branches of the forum very often. I would never have seen this if it were originally posted in pro cycling. I like hearing big news, but I'm not so nuts about pro cycling that I want to be in a forum dedicated to it.

Both what you want and what I want make sense, but they have their downsides.

Billy is just doing what the mods are supposed to do. Apparently people wanted a separation between road riding and pro racing, probably so there wouldn't be race result spoilers in the general road forum. So, if you're going to separate the categories, it doesn't make sense to separate some threads but not others. If someone's too lazy to click over to another forum to see what's going on in another forum, so be it.

For now. It sounds like they're hoping to keep at least that aspect of the team together for next year.

Just after the quote above by ultraman6970, from CyclingNews.com, the article also states, "However, Stapleton held out hope that the women's team could continue."

From VeloNews.com:

Stapleton said he was hopeful that the team’s top riders and staff would be able to find jobs within the professional peloton. He also said he hopes to secure a sponsor that will allow him to keep Highroad’s highly successful women’s program afloat for next season.

“I’d like to come through for our girls,” Stapleton said. “They deserve it and the signing schedule is a little different for women, so there is still some more time.”
It sounds like he wants to keep the women's team alive, but that he's being ethical about it by being up front and not leading them on.

bit of a shame about HTC pulling out. I wonder if it's because they've got financial problems and they decided that despite Cav winning flat stages almost at will they weren't getting enough bang for their bucks.

It'll be interesting to see where all the riders end up and will Cav be as successfull without the full train he's had in the past.
