This is going to be a nasty ride and I can't wait! I'm hoping this stage will be won by a classic battle of the elite GC's and not by a breakaway rogue domestique. There's always a bit more excitement for us viewers and Phil and Paul get more animated.

How is Joaquim Rodriguez 1 hour behind the leaders ? (I wasn't paying attention)

Tragic.
To answer my own question they just said they didn't have cameras on him when it happened.

This s**cks for everyone. For Contador and Tinkoff-Saxo obviously but also for Nibali - not the kind of rider who would like to win with two best GC riders out. IMO would be best if some outsider won now. Porte would be too funny I guess but well.

Disaster? Only if you root for the front runners. It could turn out to be the best one in years. More and more people coming into GC contention with every stage. Just not the ones you are used to seeing.

After AC got into the car and drove off I saw, what I assume is one of the motorcycle drivers/cameraman, give a thumbs up and an OK sign with his hand right in the camera with the vehicle carrying AC directly in the background. What's up with that?
I was expecting Phil or Paul to comment about it, but nothing...

It will be revealing. Don't you wonder who the next big GC contenders will be as these guys age out anyway? I'll miss Contador though. I was rooting for him. But I'd love to see someone like Porte have his day.

Some of the riders lower on the food chain having to work for someone else are going to get their chance at glory before this tour is over.

Man, what a horrible way to end the Tour. A freakin snapped frame! I can't wait to see the images of the bike. I feel very underwhelmed with the remaining peleton but this is when a new star can emerge.

I'm glad I caught the Dauphine, with the Contador/Froome battle. But I am thoroughly enjoying this TdF. Nothing remotely boring or routine about it.

Possibly. But there is a reason why no one remembers the 2006 or 2008 Tours. People look forward to watching the best face each other.

Very sad. I was looking forward for the Nibali v. Contador challenge. Now it's Nibali v nobody.
