Holy crap, they basically spend the last 120 km climbing!!! A few quick breaks to descend, then right back up again. These guys are freakin' immortal.

I hope the Non-Nibblers don't go chasing down other Non-Nibblers just for the sake of hanging onto their own lowly position. Let the Astanas do their job. And wear themselves out doing it. Then attack.

I guess all I have to look forward to now is rooting for TVG to get a podium spot. He's looking very strong.

A little disappointed that TJ didn't make a move before Nibali made his, or that he didn't at least go with Nibali on that last move. But during interview at the end, TJ admits he is lacking a kick right now to do that, maybe the falls are still bothering him, so it looks like we'll be seeing a steady TJ instead of an explosive one like I was hoping we might see in this TDF.
French riders are really looking good.
All-in-all, a good stage. It seems like everyone feels they have a shot to do something now that the big boys are out.

There's still 3 more days of mountains and I think we'll see a change in the 2nd through 10th place riders. I'm rooting for TJ to get to the podium but, man, it's gonna be tough. I don't see TJ shaking Pinot but perhaps be able to catch him in the ITT.
How I would like to see it play out (and most probable):
How I would like to see it play out (and most probable):
- Nibali takes the yellow into Paris
- Valverde cracks and loses time. Drops several minutes.
- Bardet moves into second.
- TJ overtakes Pinot in ITT for third place.

Made me laugh when yesterday some still tried to cling to the hope that nibs would crack, ''without his team mates'' they said......it seems he doesn't need his team mates does it.
Its a real shame Froome and Contador crashed out, with nibs in the form of his life this had the makings of being a truly epic battle.
At least the podium spots are close, for once i actually care about a time trial stage in that regard.

I'd like to see TJ on the podium, but Valverde has been super-consistent in grand tours the last few years. I don't see him cracking. The two french guys are new to me - I don't know what they're made of. Do they time trial well?
It's nice to see Purito in polka dots. It's a shame he hasn't been able to contend for the GC this time.

TJ is within 1:12 of second place. He has beaten everyone above him by that much in a late time trial at least once.

Still I do admit that he may be the best bet for a podium spot. Pyrenees suit him, he's way more experienced than Bardet/Pinot/TJVG and I think he understands better than others (after failing so many times) that it's his best shot at the Tour de France podium. But it has nothing to do with his consistency, quite the opposite.
