Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Check out the 700x37 Pasela from Panaracer. Good, affordable tires that ride nicely on- and off-road.

I just ordered these in terracotta for my Soma Saga. Pasela's are a great tire. Riding the pictured tires in 32mm right now.

Only 700 x 35, and pretty cheap at $16 each. Thinking of putting them on a Fuji Cross 4.0 I'm looking at. I don't like the look of the knobbies that come on the bike. Look like they would be horrible on the road, where I will probably do 60-70% of my riding.

About how much do you guys spend on the various 38s you're running?
I didn't end up buying the Fuji. Found a used Kona Jake for a great price and brought it home tonight. The original Maxxis 700x35 tires are pretty well worn. I want something less aggressive and more road friendly, but wide and comfortable. 38 or 40 width. Anyone have experience with the Michelin Protek?

Under $20. I'd really like to stay close to this price range so comments on this tire or other recommendations in this range would be appreciated.
