cannon valley trail
If there are any riders out there in the twin cities area perhaps you have ridden the Cannon Valley Trail. I ride it as frequently as I can. It is never boring. For those riders who are planning someday to travel to the TC area I recommend it. If you have ridden it you know how great it is.
Yesterday I rode it...saw a fox, a deer, the eagle nest, the usual wildbirds, and missed a baby rattler sunning. Beautiful day;busy even for a weekday.
I ride a cyclegenius raven and a burley limbo, btw.

One thing that I don't like about trails is that they typically have lots of road crossings. That one doesn't appear to have more than a couple, which is a Good Thing(tm).

Hi Mark,
When I cart my trike to a trail, it's more often than not the CVT. Hope to get back there once my tender achilles heals. I ride a yellow Catrike with fenders.
I've also taken the spur up the Hay Creek trail, which connects in Red Wing, though it isn't marked. I hope to do some canoeing & tubing at Welch too this summer.

I live near Madison, WI, but have ridden the CVT a couple of times. Very nice. Enjoyed a few of the informational points of interest along the trail. Red Wing is one of my favorite towns.

Even though that trail is 2 1/4 hours away, I try to ride this trail a couple of times a year. I also really like the extension to Hay Creek. Though ever since that deli closed in Cannon Falls at the far end of that one road bridge, I've not eaten in that town.

Hey, megaman, hope you are doing well.
I might be riding the Cannon Valley trail in a week or so. Sometime around 10/11 - 10/13. Rode it a couple of years ago and enjoyed it very much.
I rode the "400" trail out of La Valle, WI a couple of days ago. That is still one of my favorite trails.

The Cannon gets my vote for one of the better trails. I find it can get crowded on weekends. I live on the Douglas trail in Rochester so I ride it daily.. It is a beautiful trail. It does have a lot of cross roads unlike the Cannon. I try to make it to the Root River trail which like the Cannon has few cross roads. TE, GRR

SE MN has lots of trails that are paved. It is really exciting to hear about all the plans for future trails that will connect existing trails and make a network of trails. I only hope I live that long to enjoy them. If they ever get the Shooting Star and Blazing Star and Root River trails completed and hooked to the Sparta Trail it will be one wonderful ride. The Rochester area is getting more trails ever year. They are now working to connect The Douglas Trail to the 55miles of Rochester trails which is also expanding every year to the surrounding towns. It cannot come too soon.

I which we had more organziced rides. Like the GITAP ride. Now that Minnesota and WI has some long Trails we should have more organized group rides.
