Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

I don't know if 44 years of age is considered "older". But after being passed by a velomobile (ckaudio's), I became intrigued and read about the speed one attains during flats and downhills.
I basically bought my low racer bent purely for speed. But, I'm starting to enjoy the comfort my lowracer offers as well. I'll still ride my DF (with all the discomforts), but my bent is just so nice to ride. I can't wait for warmer weather to come!

At least you are an honest person. You admit the DF bikes do have their discomforts.

Therefore I think it is encumbent on bent riders to admit that it is necessary to have a DF bike if you race, or mountain bike. Best tool for the job at hand so to speak.
