Yeah great, but why is your building the colour of toothpaste? It's hideous. Are you guys going to muralize it?

TRaffic Jammer 05-25-06 02:59 PM

same colour as the logo.... they painted the building to look like that, it was teal before

eyefloater 05-25-06 03:09 PM

Dude, the old colour was vile. The new colour is fine so love it ... because it loves you (mural's coming in on the back wall/alley wall).

Nay, the old colour was a thing of beauty. The new colour is classic Leslieville yuppie. I reject it because it loves me.

And how much is a trailer rental?

The huge ****er is $15/day.

I thought it might be nice to give y'all a little slice of some of the Bike Week(s) activities that I highlighted in the guide. I'm going to try and make it out to as much as possible as I've never really taken much advantage of it in the past.

aaaaanyhoo.. I was going to post it right here in the thread, but it turns out to be more information than I thought.. so, being the dork that I am, I made this. :P

you guys see the new sit n' spins from UTW?
and who has these again? Some feedback would be awesome before I drop the ball on a pair.

operator 05-25-06 08:33 PM

jeremeywhitehorn/darkmother: you guys are going to do the hairshirt this year right? I have ambitions of going on it.

i have a pair of the previous incarnation. they are a nice light pair of pants with material similar to a windbreaker shell so they're not for cold weather, but they're not bulky either. they are were cut very "euro" in the last batch and so despite the fact that i bought an XL and i'm a 34 waist, i'm still kind of squeezing into them. i see now they're offering them in proper waist sizes, so i'm tempted to pick up a size 36 and see if that's better. but seeing as i just dropped serious $ on a new camera i think i'll stick with my old cut off dickies.

*sigh* ... that felt dirty. And those probikekit.com deals are pretty awesome, I must admit.

Hey eyefloater, thanks for the shoes. It was good to meet and talk w/ you. I'll probably give the shoes a workout tomorrow (gotta make sure they work y'know). ;) :)

No problem finding the place and even better, no problem finding a parking spot. I know I know, drive a car to a bike shop? My wife was w/ me and didn't want to ride on my handlebars and she doesn't have a bike so I had to drive. She did like the looks of the Breezers though which tells you how far apart we are when it comes to bikes.

Enjoy the shoes - let me know what you think of them.

Oh, you're in town for the next two weeks which puts you here for Bike Week. Check Somnambulant's post about that further up on this page for info of what's going on. There should be more than a few chances for you to get out and meet some other people from the forum.

I have a couple of pairs. One's a prototype, I think from before they were even in production. The other is, I believe, the first design they sold. I'm too fat for both of them now :( but when I fit into them they're awesome :D

Oh, and I've been wearing Sidi Dominators for around 4 years now and they're still in excellent shape. I recommend them to all my customers even though my store doesn't sell them :p

Have YOU seen them? I don't think I'm a big fan of the old design. I like some form with my function! :) If I'm dropping that much money on a pair of cycling-specific shants I'll go with the Chrome Shins. I keep meaning to ask Robin what he thinks of those. I wonder if he's lurking. :)

I'm considering it, but I'm not on track milage wise. I'll have to really step it up in the next few weeks if I want to finish it in a reasonable time.

Yeah, I'll be checking out the festivities for bike week and I'm also thinking of doing the Heart & Stroke ride on the DVP next weekend. And thanks for the tip about Somnambulant's bike week post. I didn't see it on the first scroll through.

ps. there's obviously much more to bikeweek than my list. That's just the stuff that I highlighted. :)

c'mon! they're not that ugly! believe it or not they look better than the pictures indicate. if you're looking for alternatives, the hypnotic designs knickers are on sale now to make room for a new design. i have a pair of these and they are not too shabby. a little bit warmer than the UTW so not for summer use. i've seen the chrome shants at curbside; they look pretty nice but at that price i'd rather have 4 pairs of shortened dickies...
