Solid Aero Wheelset options under $1000?
Do they exist? Anyone have experience with the planet x wheelsets? How bad of an idea would be to just get the aero front wheel?

Front wheel makes all the difference really, it would just look weird running a 50-60 up front with a 24 in the back.

A deep front wheel gives a bigger benefit than an equally deep rear wheel, but in less than ideal conditions it is also more detrimental to handling.

Just bought a set of Giant P-SLR1 Aero for $700. Clincher with carbon faring, under 1600g, tubeless. So far so good.

UAM cycles sells 60 mm deep full carbon clinchers on eBay through "Greenforce Pro". I bought a set for $560+$70 for shipping. They claim 1500 grams or so and that seems accurate. I've got a bit over 1000 miles on them and continue to be amazed at how well they perform. They mimic other modern deep section wheels in that they are widest just below the brake track, are rounded at the nipples and mate very nicely with 25 mm tires to create a nice aero profile between rim and tire. They are the first set of full carbon wheels I have ridden and brake nicely with Reynolds Cro Blue pads. They climb well as they are very stiff. On flat sections they hold 25+ mph efforts rather effortlessly. I never imagined a set of wheels could make such a significant difference in overall speed. And, in cross winds, they are more manageable than I would have guessed.

Tokyowheel.com they're right about $1,000 and Carbon.
I have the Epic 38's with about 1,500 miles on them. Race and ride them daily.

From the comments in the above link:
"What is more simple is that saving weight on the bike or on yourself means you can ride up hills faster at the same speed..."
If only it were as more simple!

Me too.....LMAO......definitely find myself riding up hills faster at the same speed. Some of the time. But mostly all of the time.

I've become more heavier at the same height the more I eat.
