Chinese Carbon Wheelset owners, are you satisfied?
I've been searching through old posts getting information about Chinese Carbon Fiber Wheelsets and I noticed that a lot of people argue that the brand name originals are superior, I have no doubt in my mind this is true. For those whom have purchased the more economic Chinese counter-parts, are you satisfied with your purchase and their performance? Bang for buck?

I cannot compare to the "real" carbon fiber wheels such as Zipp but I can say that I have had little to no problems with my carbon wheelsets. I recommend getting the "U Shape" style as they appear to be more stiff compared to the standards V shape. If I lived in an area with lots of elevation I would probably stay away, I don't know how comfortable I feel with the braking surface (even with Swissstop black prince). For <$400 they are have a nice build quality and are good for those that want to venture into Aero style rims w/o dropping major money. The novatec hubs are loud but some people like that.
There are plenty of threads on this forum regarding carbon wheels, do some reading.

i've had to search for some brake pads that worked, but all in all, they've been well worth the savings. this has been the case for me WRT all my unlabeled carbon components; rims, saddles, handlebars, seatposts, forks, and frames.

If you stick with the more established Mainland Chinese vendors you'll probably be fine. Avoid random Aibaba/eBay sellers. That's a total crap shoot.

I agree with Bob. I didn't buy a wheelset, only rims, but I was completely satisfied and will buy again.

If you include Taiwan in "China," then perhaps.
I bought a pair of carbon clinchers from here.
Wheels - Bicycle Wheels
18 months and some 5,000 miles later, I'm satisfied.

I had Chinese carbon wheels and experienced a lot of squealing under braking. I've tried several carbon pads and the results were the same. I sold the wheel and told myself no more Chinese carbon but now reconsidering since I want another aero wheelset that is economical. Are the newer version better in term of eliminating the squeal?

I decided to pull the trigger on a Custom carbon wheelset. I contacted Yoeleo and broke down the details exactly what i want. Below are the specs for the wheel I sent them:
SAT Straight Pull 700C 38MM
Weave:18K Finish:Matt Width:23mm Hubs:R36 Powerway Carbon Hubs Shimano 11 speed(Red) Black Sapim CX-Ray Spoke, Nipple (Red), Decal: CUSTOM
I have to admit, for a Chinese company, their customer services is TOP NOTCH!!!
All in all, I spend a total of $775 shipped. The turn around time is 1 month, and I should receive it in 2 weeks. I will post pictures and reviews of the wheelset once I receive it.

Well, I did the unthinkable and bought my Chinese, low profile, carbon tubular rims off ebay instead of from Yoeleo or such. Honestly, I completely forgot about the semi-name brand sources and really liked the price on ebay, $183 + $56 shipping I think. I have just finished building them up, but haven't yet glued on the tires, so I can't say anything about braking, noise, or other performance characteristics.
What I can say is that I have never before encountered a pair of rims that was this easy to build up. I mean they just fell true both radially and laterally with nearly perfect tension balance all around. Without even using my Park tensiometer it was almost impossible to get it wrong. Just amazing.
I don't know if that is characteristic of the Chinese rims or not, but just on that basis I am very pleased. We will see about break track behavior and wear, and all the other stuff including durability.
