You'd think that, given LA's ego, they could have convinced him to play himself. Ben Foster looks kinda like him with an inflated forehead, it's a little creepy to be honest. I'll probably see it at some point, can't wait to nitpick little things that the director may miss like being in the small chainring on a descent or shifting into bigger cogs for a sprint.

Like a lot of folks I have some mixed feelings about some of the things he did. However, he did have cancer that had spread to his lungs and brain, and he did beat it and then proceed to cross the finish line first in the TDF 7 times in a row. The fact that he beat the cancer is impressive in and of its own. Let alone to then be strong enough to even compete in a Tour.

he only almost single handedly brought cycling (TdF) to people's attention. Before that many people didn't even heard about TdF, let alone give it a [care]. And he was one of the best cyclist (cheater) of all times, come back from illness and all.
If there is no doping ever in the cycling history and he is first one to get caught, then I see the point of stepping on him all you want. But otherwise, I see him as just another one that doped, just that he did it very well without getting caught and play his power card to cover it.
I don't support doping / cheating, but unless the cycling sport completed cleaned up, I don't see him as any worse than cyclist that were caught / or has not been caught yet.

As far as the movie goes, I hate we he did to the sport and the lies, but I love cycling. I'm excited to see it just because it's a movie about cycling.
