How are you mounting your iPhone?
How are you guys mounting your phones to your bike? I bought a mount from Amazon and turns out it does not fit my handle bars or stem. I have an iPhone 6s Plus that I need to mount. I know there is one mount that will work but you have to change the phone case and it costs $70 for the mount. What are you all using?

Seriously though, are you using your phone for turn by turn directions? Is it synced to sensors on your bike? Or are you just using an app like Strava as your only source of ride data?
Personally, I prefer leaving my Cyclemeter app running on the phone but with the screen off in my pocket. I also use a relatively simple stem-mounted computer that gives me HR and speed/time/distance, which are the only metrics I really need during a ride. If I get lost, I can pull over and figure out my route using my phone's map tools.
You can find cheap wired or wireless computers on Amazon and the like if you prefer to go this route. Riding with the phone in your pocket also allows you to run earbuds under your jersey into the pocket so you don't have a wire dangling around, if you use your phone for music.

Works fine. My bike has standard 31.8mm road bars, nothing fancy or aero shaped.

I use this for mounting my iPhone 6 to my bars while on my trainer.

I actually had exactly the same dilemma recently then, since I sync to Zwift through my phone. My laptop is on a table next to me within an arm's reach while I ride on the trainer, and I usually have a towel spread over the bars and leave the phone on the towel. If I start dripping too much sweat near the phone, I'll just put it on top of the laptop since I don't really use the in-game functions too often (other than trolling strangers with "Ride on!" over and over, or waving at everyone that passes).

I'm attaching it to the part of the handlebar just outside the stem, so round and 31.8mm diameter there. Strange if you're doing the same thing and it doesn't work!

I had my Garmin 705 detach from the bracket at 50mph* and go tumbling across the pavement.
I retrieved it, and it still works fine. Just some scuffing on the corners. Screen unscathed.
No way in hell my iPhone 5 would have survived that.
* It was on the motorcycle.

How do you like it? I just got an iPhone 6S and it's more slippery than my last phone...plus the Better Half really thinks I should have it in a case. How does the case itself affect how thick it is...and does it go in/out of pockets ok? It comes highly rated. I don't really like having my phone in my jersey pocket, especially in the summer. It's a good way to let it sit in a bit of a swamp. Also, while I wanted a Garmin, I keep hearing that the iPhone GPS chip is better, there are fewer problems, etc...and I only have to charge one device instead of both (keeping in mind I'll always have my phone on my during a ride and charge it every night). Plus...forking out like $300 for an Edge 520 vs roughly $100 for the bike mount kit + extra out front mount to go between two bikes.

It's a tight fit, I'll admit, but with the shims removed and the bottom part hooked onto the largest setting, it works. I'll admit when I first got it my first impression was that it wasn't going to, but it did!

Well you need to be able to reach it from your bike but you could use some kind of arm or shelf or something that's attached to the wall, right? I mean if you're running out of room on your bars, and don't want to have mounts shipped from Amazon until you find the right one ...

My quad lock case is very thin. I've ridden 10,000 miles with it and never once had it come off of my bars. I used to use Rokform but found their cases to be bulky and the stem mount was ugly/heavy.
