Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cannondale Synapse Alloy Disc

Hello,

I bought a 2016 Cannondale Synapse alloy frame (no fork) It's still has yet to ship, but I realized I forgot to check the tire clearance. If it's too small I might need to cancel the order. I also can't seem to find the information about tire clearance on Cannondale's site or least don't know where to look.

Bikes: Too many. Giant Trance X 29, Surly Midnight Special get the most time.

You could try googling it. My brief look at the results of "cannondale synapse 2016 tire clearance" indicate that it probably has clearance for 28s, maybe 30s, which is pretty damn normal for an endurance bike. After that calipers tend to be the problem.

My Synapse has tires that measure 27.5 with the micrometer and there's about a 1mm clearance. Of course it's older model so it might be different, but 30 is going to be the max. You can find the owners manual online and it maybe find maximum tire width there.

they came stock with 28's on some models, so somewhere around there will likely be it. might fit some 30's.

Yea, I figured that out. I ended calling the person I bought it from. It still apparently 28 even on the disc version.
