My Fastest Century Ever!
Gotta brag - last Thursday, while participating in the Bicycle Tour of Colorado, 5 of us hooked up and set our best century times ever. We rode from Crested Butte to Hotchkiss - 105.15 miles, with 5431 feet of climbing. My time was 445, which makes for an average speed of 21.699 mph!!!
Besides the overall speed, I also bombed the downhill coming off of Hermit's Rest - 3 of my riding buddies tried to catch me, but were unable to until after 3 miles out on the flats. And, I won the final town limit sprint into Hotchkiss. During the entire ride, with 1500 cyclists on the road, I was only passed by 2 guys.
All in all, a very good day of riding (especially for a 52-year old).

All I can say is that when I grow up I want to do that!

Very nice. I always say that age is a state of mind and that inactivity is what breeds old age.
Congrats on the time.

A never-ending tour like that would be my idea of heaven (maybe with hotel rooms and hot tubs instead of tents and a shower truck, and more tailwinds).

Super job! That is legitimately very impressive, and I am sure I am far from capable of doing it myself. I can kick ass in a 10K time trial though!

A very, very good week on the bike, with the added bonus of beautiful, snow-capped mountains covered in wildflowers, with high-flowing rivers, creeks, and waterfalls flowing down the canyons. Heaven on a bike.
I'm working on my photos, and will post a link to them in the next day or two.

WOW! I thought my time of 5:28 was good for a 49er. I know theres plenty of guys out there faster then me,but at 52 and turning those times with that elevation is downright impressive. My hats off to you.
