Leader Bike USA Frames
I saw some great prices on these frames on Ebay. Is there anyone who owns one of these bikes and can tell me more about them? Are they good bikes compared to other manufacturers such as TREK, Schwinn, Giant, etc? I was especially interested in the LD 717R.

Wow, thats tight, my Leader mtn bike seems like a good frame except for the paint falls off if you look at it funny and the seat stays have so much flex that the V brakes don't work so great.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you have any complaints about your bike timmyquest? And does anyone know if you can get the bikes anywhere besides ebay and leaderbike's online store?

Too bad they don't make cyclocross frames... I've been thinking of building up a frame with 105 or Tiagra and my Fulcrum's. But I can always get a Giant cheap.

Leader makes fantastic frames for the money and just generally an unbeatable value. I had a 780R frameset (aluminum frame with carbon seat stays) and it was a great frame, except that I bought it 3cm too small. If I'd just purchased the proper frame size the first time I probably would've happily kept it. They may not be the most competatively light weight frames in comparison to what their likely counterparts from other companies might be, but again, for the money, you're getting an incredible deal.

I'd like to build a fairly lightweight Flat Bar CX bike. That would be pretty interesting.

I was wondering if they would do a CX bike. But why the hell would they make one with the cables under the top tube. ATTENTION MR. LEADERBIKE GUY CROSS FRAMES NEED THE CABLE MOUNTED ABOVE THE TT. I'm not aware of anyone who enjoys cables or braze ons digging into their shoulders.

I have one of their TT frames, the 735TT (all aluminum). I just built it up this week and will be racing it on Sunday. I'm very pleased so far, and I'm looking forward to getting more miles on it.

FYI, Ramjm, one of the folks at Leader has an account here and posts in threads like this, so your comment about cable stops may be noticed, and who knows, maybe they'll change it for next year's CX frame.

With sales being made via e-bay or web page, many buyers, including myself, have found frame size not on target, and look to unload.
I picked up the frame, fork and headset 2 weeks ago for $179, and built it with a 9 speed Mirage drivetrain that was part of my garage "surplus inventory".
Decent frames, paint seems to chip easily, but no major issues.
