Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sweet ride jharvey! That is an extremely nice choice for your first roadster.

Welcome to "Roadie World" (although I enjoy my MTB almost as much). Ask away - you're sure to get a variety of answers to all of your questions here - like it or not!

I am interested in those fenders and the way in which they attach to the frame, especially in the rear. Is that your own idea or did they come with that contraption? Do you have any closer pics of the setup? Beautiful bike, thanks for sharing.

I'm going to go out and try to find a garage door in some other color than white, with triangle inlays! I never noticed how common/the white with rectangles/squares was!

Not as much as i should. But my wife and I (she has a torquise Shogun road / touring bike from 1987) are riding more - as an alternative to running. I just don't like to get it wet and it rains a lot here in the summer. This one was made in Aug 77 - it must have sat in a warehouse for a while because i ordered the bike in Jul 78. Bet there were no real differences in the Profesional from 77 to 78, so I don't care what year it is. I say Bianchis, De Rosas and Gios at the bike store all the time, but I liked the Raleigh because of the Reynolds 531 tubing.
