Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks on the bike stand compliments, It's only 3.5" deep, the hook at the handlebars holds the bike to the wall, it's leaning outward, you just can't see it very well because of the camera angle. Tubing on the Somec is SLX.

I'm allergic to latex, and the stabalizer in rubber as well. Thats why Hudz gave me this prototype on the house. I spent several months in contact with them they were intially going to make me a set of pvc ones at the normal price. When the ultegra Hudz kept getting pushed back they sent me these beauties for free. They are very comfortable and they dont make my hands itch . I prefer the erganomics of these as well.

I carry nitryl gloves to change my tires unless some cute guy sees me then I act helpless.

Oops, you're right. 352g actually. Link: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...pro+axis+forte

Great deal, but it only came in a 1" steerer. and I don't think they really sell it any more. But I do remember researching it when I bought it (about a year and a half ago) and finding out that it weighed less than an Easton EC90. No durability issues whatsoever - if you can find one, get one.

For those of you challenged with inserting pictures-- click the YELLOW BUTTON WITH THE MOUNTAINS.
Having ridden a few steel bikes vs carbon..

i would say...the bike at speed probably isn't much faster...it just makes getting there and doing it easier. I think you can jump faster (stiffer frames), maybe climb a bit faster (more efficient drive lines and frame build) and descend more confidently (also stiffness is nice) on the new carbon bikes..most of it's about the engine, but there are things about it that just seem to make going faster easier, which in racing is most of the equation right?

all that being said..let the flaming from the "steel is real crowd" begin.
