Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I got one of those through craigslist, same price, in Tacoma a couple years ago. Black with gold trim, my favorite steel bike that has come through my hands, and I've had a lot. Wish it hadn't been too small for me. Congrats on the build!

Made a few changes to her today. Took it fully apart, cleaned the drivetrain, wiped it down, swapped out the stem, and decided to take an updated picture. A Thomson stem is on order. My last one was just too short.

The bars on that Specialized E5 are ITM Ventios (I think I got that right). One of ITM's cheaper Alu bars. So far, I like the non-ergo, more traditional curve, not too steep drop. They are 31.8 at the clamp and narrow diameter elsewhere. Similar to the Salsa Pros from the olden days.

Nice bike. I have a question....It looks like the seat is set all the way back and the stem looks to be 65 or70mm. How/where does that setup position your knees?

Here's my ride, freshly washed (though the bartape isn't as white as I'd like).
2006 Felt F-75, upgraded with Real Design Supersonic 60 wheelset and FSA SL-K 53/39 crankset.
Next up is some new bar tape when racing season gets closer and a white saddle (Selle Italia SLR?)

It's a 75 mm. The setup was done as part of a 3D Specialized BG fit.

updated with new wheels but no cassette. I'm trying to decide on force or red, having a hard time since the difference is a whopping $150.

With wheels like that, you need red.

Actually, there is a Force cassette. Its the OG-1070 Cassette whereas the Red is the OG-1090.

It's actually the exact same one as the Rival cassette..

So you're BOTH wrong.

Incorrect... they call it "non series". But the box that it comes in actually says "Rival" on it
