Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

After the work converting the stem from Klein's MC2 tech and 1 1/16" steerer to the 1 1/8th standard stem and putting on a nice set of compact Deda's, it's time for new photo's! These are all iPhone photo's!

I would think finding a place to really ride in tokyo would be tough, no?

My brother lives in himeji and he says even there you have to get out in the country to ride.

It's ok, I stick to the big roads and head west out over Tamagawa and into the hills. Also I ride first thing in the morning when less cars are about.

lol. Not quite. I ride in the city, sometimes finish at the track late, and have a few uphills, so the red blinky stays on so that the drivers can see me. Not worth taking it on/off for rides. Lighter wheelset planned for next year - although I really like the Vuelta hubs.

It would look so boss with the new all black Rival and some 303's.

I have this exact bike in 52cm. It's currently on Craigslist so I can finish putting together a 1980's Cannondale frame in Dura-Ace 7402.

I must've been crazy to buy that $2,500+ bike as my first road bike; what was I thinking?

I also started to get turned off to all the labeling, a big "Cannondale" across the downtube is all you need IMO.

And if I ever decide to race, I'm using the same 80's R300 and replace the old-school parts with Rival. The only problem is, Cannondale painted their bikes at the time with this dark blue paint that actually doesn't match black! They managed to find the only color in the world that doesn't match black.

I just "finished up" my BMC the other day. I guess I mean finished up for now since I do want to do more to it, but I'm tapped for awhile!

What wheels and what components? But anyway, the price sounds good.

Have to notice the small things: like the coordinating pedal colors, those be boss.... Dig the white.

I'm assuming this is the the 2011 model with shimano 2300? Bottom of the range components, but there's no reason why they can't work well. The frame looks pretty nice actually, carbon fork too. $500 seems like a pretty good deal
