Great ride! I have my 1984 Schwinn Super Le Tour. I'll take some pics and add them later. Love riding the old school. Bought the bike for $150 brand new as I had installed their phone system and the sold me the bike (1 for me and a 2nd for my wife) for cost. Regular price would have been $300 each. I got both for $300. Still have it, still love it!!

that thing's awesome. i've got a new bike but i'm still keeping my eye out on CL for an older bike like yours. the good ones get snatched up pretty quickly though.

Nice bike. I want one, seriously. Nice pic, too.

After much debate internally and seeing loads of just awesome looking (and expensive, I'd imagine) bikes in here, I thought I'd post my first road bike, just to put it out there. It's a 2011 Gravity Liberty 1, all stock, no bells and whistles. I haven't even installed my CatEyes yet, just a bottle cage. Maybe you seasoned vets out there can suggest potential upgrades ...

Most of you guys are probably going :twitchy: haha, oh well.

Your handlebars are the wrong way up. Around here we call that DUI style.

Welp, you definitely found the downside to buying from BikesDirect...

No offense intended but after looking at so many other bikes, did something strike you as being unusual with your handlebar setup?

Wow, 2 ghost pages in this thread.

Vicelord 06-03-11 07:36 PM

someone is either really good at photoshop or really dumb, or both.

I won't mention the bars since everyone else already did, but reflectors? REFLECTORS?!

rmr1923 06-03-11 10:49 PM

so THAT'S what they mean when they say "flip it". i thought you were just supposed to flip the stem. this guy may be onto something.

cmschmie 06-03-11 10:58 PM

He can ride in the drops all day.

rmr1923 06-03-11 11:00 PM

i think he'd be technically riding "on" the drops, and "in" the hoods

Pinkbullet3 06-03-11 11:36 PM

Nothing's wrong with the Gravity. Ride on, buddy!

Except that DUI style usually means just rotated back about 180 degrees. These are installed backwards and rotated. That took some effort.

My new Wilier (from Competitive Cyclist, as you can see in the photo). I love it, absolutely love it.

Unfortunately, I'm an idiot and laid it down this morning on a lazy, slow group ride. I looked it over, and the frame and fork look fine. The hanger is a little bent, it ripped the cable out of the rear derailleur, broke one spoke and bent another on the front wheel, and twisted the right shifter in on the bar, but that looks like it. I took it straight to the LBS for them to look over it and make sure there's no damage, but from what I can see it looks ok. At least I don't have to worry about it being "new" anymore, it's been wrecked so now I can just ride it and stop babying it. But honestly, the only scratches I could even find were on the right shifter and rear derailleur, I couldn't find any other scratches anywhere. I'm thanking my lucky stars today.

Oh, and I'm fine too. A little road rash and a stiff knee, but not too bad, I've done worse playing intramural sports. My wife thinks my road rash looks like the worst thing she's ever seen, while I can't stop worrying about my bike. The riders behind me praised me afterwards for rolling up as I fell, instead of sticking an arm out and breaking a wrist or collarbone, so at least there's that.

Got this guy of Craigslist for a really good price. Felt F55, all DA except for the crank. This is the picture right after I got it, a few changes to be had

http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...-25-24_282.jpg]

This is the nearly final product. Put Conti Gatorskins on, swapped out the water bottle cages and put white tape instead of red tape on the handlebars (couldn't find my black but I had to get rid of the red). Still messing with the fit hence the fork is not trimmed down yet. I had the bike for TWO FREAKING WEEKS before I had a chance to ride it. The weather up in Minneapolis was just so bad and having a new toy for two weeks and just riding it today was tough, but totally worth the wait. Upgrading from an all aluminum Klein bike with 105 to this Felt was amazing.

http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...4-31-51_91.jpg

Also just picked up this steal for my fiancée. Ultegra minus the FSA crank. 650 wheels on the 50 cm frame. She is 5'3" so finding a nice bike that fits is tough. Wasn't going to get a bike this nice but for the price I couldn't pass it up.

http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...-30-15_997.jpg

Both of the new rides just for fun. Really looking forward to getting her into biking.

Sweet Wilier and Felt guys... Here is mine as it sits after full tuneup and Bottom Bracket servicing for the Tour de Cure tomorrow morning. Sorry for the camerawork, I couldn't find the tripod and I just wanted to take a pic before bringing it in.
