I guess my only goal was to put together a nice road bike. I actually stumbled on to the fork a little late in the assembly game, I liked them, I wanted to ride the thing already, so I put them on...

I had a crash about two months ago, and only now is my racer back in order. Ended up having to get new Record BB and cranks and I threw in some new wheels for good measure. This is my baby.

I finally got around to taking some pics of my beast, an early 90s (?) Univega, 6 spd (12--25) freewheel, Biopace chainrings, Aluminum main triangle, cro-mo stays and fork. She's a beast, but she does the job.

Laugh, smile, reminisce, as it pleases you. Here's my ride:

I ride steel frames and tubular tires so obviously I am not the sort of person with a digital camera...bummer. Colnago Masterlight (blue) with carbon fork, Campy Record, flite carbon saddle, Nucleon. Her name is Sophia.

My recently purchased Miyata 912. I've logged about 900 km on it but don't really know much about it, not even the frame size... I know it's 12 speed though :)

If anyone would like to share some info about this bike, please do. E.g. how old is it likely to be? Was $100 a reasonable price?

I've added new pedals, saddle and tape.

Wow that's a classic. I think $100 was worth it just for the sake of how cool of a bike that is.

My Univega (a few posts up, on pg 93) is a lot like your bike, but white :)

That's a really nice looking vintage bike. What saddle is that? Anyway, if I had to guess at the size, (judging from the photo) I'd say it's about 58cm or so. Easy way to check: take a tape measure, and measure from the center of the crank arm bolt to the middle of the top tube, along the angle of the seat tube. That will give you your center-to-center (c-c) measurement. Measure to the top of the seat tube for the center-to-top (c-t) measurement. If your tape measure is in inches, multiply the result by 2.54 to get the size in cm.

$100 sounds like a really good deal, mine cost $150 and I'm very satisfied that I got my money's worth. As far as the age of your bike, guessing by the quill-type stem, 6 speed cog, and the fact that it's a Miyata, it's probably from somewhere between '85 and '90.

Nice bike, keep enjoying it!

miyata, maruishi, bridgestone, and panasonic, were some of the better japanese makers. 6sp rear... perhaps early 80s. 100$ is a great price

Currently I've got a Surly Pacer outfitted for touring. Dura-Ace brake set, campy hubs, derailleurs unfortunately only 600 series. She's a beaut' though and I call her Karazyov. No digicam but I'm going to borrow a friends soon and post a pic.

custom spectrum road from 1992. It's a little big hence the seatpost being so low! i got used for 200 bucks including a mavic headset, fork and 3TTT stem. i added all Ultegra parts/Mavic Open Pro Rims, 3TTT handlebars and R600 STI brake shifters
