Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I usually ride alone so I need a bag to hold a little more. I got the Transit expandable bag from Performance. I can easily get a couple tubes, some CO2 and a small multi-tool. Say what you want but it works for me.

I've got a Specialized small wedge. It fits pretty perfectly under the saddle and has enough space for a tube, cartridge and cartridge nozzle, two tire levers, mini tool, phone and money. I would go with the smallest, slimmest mini tool you can find though. Mine is sort of bulky and takes up too much space.

Got rid of my seat bag when I got the Toupe seat a couple of months ago - figured it was the cycling equivalent of a fanny pack and it just didn't seem right anymore, so I've started using my jersey pockets instead. Got myself a zippered nylon bag to organize C02, hybrid pump, spare tube, patches, levers, and multitool. It's easy to just grab the bag and stuff it in my middle pocket and know I've got everything.

Personally, I hate carrying items in my jersey's pockets. I bought an $8 underseat Bell bag from wal-mart. as much as wal-mart sucks, this was the best deal.

I have been eyeing this one and think I may get it. Just small enough to keep the important things in and the junk out. Right now I carry everything in my jersey pockets.
