My New Specialized E5 Rocket
Just got my E5 Specialized S-Works 56.5cm. She is a beauty all Dura-Ace components etc, etc. The wheels were changed to Mavic Kysium Elites, but for me thats fine. I got the bike for a great price and she was never ridden.
The pedals are my old comfort bike pedals BTW, and will be changed by next week (got to get shoes, etc).
I will change the tires to Michelin ? 700c 25's as I want a little more road hugging. After I get comfortable I'll put on some 23's.
I have been talking about this bike on this forum since I saw it last week, been back to the LBS 4 times just to look at it, and decided today was the day.
Yes- she is quick :-)

That may be the last bike Specialized made without making sure the logos are visible from every angle at 50 yards. A bad trend Cannondale made popular that Specialized picked up on and ran with.
That's a very nice bike. Here's wishing you many happy and safe miles together.

Thank you all, I just bought Crank Broc Candy C pedals and getting shoes tomorrow.
Yes, I want MTB shoes as I want to walk into restaurants etc. I not true racer (yet) so for now these will be fine.
How many of you like the MTB style of shoe?
wll

Road bike shoes are perfectly fine for walking into restaurants. They suck if you have to walk a long way or something, but walking 50 yards or less is just fine. The extra stiffness is well worth it to me. But then I have crank bros road cleats on mine. Maybe some others make it harder to walk?

What tires are on there now, and what's wrong with them that you have to change them to 25's? Seems like a waste of perfectly good tires, IMO.
I would think correct tire pressure would go alot farther in promoting a comfortable ride than an extra 2mm in overall tire diameter.
