Where is there racing tonight?
I thought I was really cool 'back in the day' (always wanted to say that) cos I was riding into the city, doing 6am NRR getting 120-130km in and then racing in the evening (46km). Turns out all the barstids do it.
Time to move state I think and find some easy racing somewhere. Kind of like when you're a hack/hussling footballer type....the older you get the further out into the bush you move so you can still get a game.
Sad thing is I could go down and watch Moe vs Morwell seconds and there would be guys earning more cash than in A grade at Glenvale.

Bull****! Lets face it 99% of them are tradies. They all call in 'stuck at a job' on tuesdays (then sneak in later to booze on in the sheds) and only pull on the boots on thursdays cos its selection night.
And they still take home $50 for running out on the field and another 50-150 if they either a) punch some **** in the head reel good or b) get a few kicks to stay inside the boundary line.
God footballers **** me.

Same happens up here in shires cricket. Some blokes earn over 10k a season. Can't say i understand how anybody is worth that... Free rego, fine. Maybe (and i mean maybe) some help with new gear or a discount at your sponsor's shop. But 10K to play something you are supposed to want to do anyway - when it's not even bloody first grade! Bollocks to that.
Yeah, tell me about it, Phil Jaques has only played 3 games this year for Sutherland, and probably gets 20 times that, slacker he his.

who is going to win the Aussie road race nationals?
Classic1, whats the prediction? As usual there are a bunch of 19-21 year olds that may as well be able to win in the mens.

Aren't they running the U23's separate to the Open Men's to stop that happening?
Remember the debacle a couple of years ago when Will Walker smoked the field then was only awarded the U23 jersey and he couldn't wear it in European Open races? (I think they made an exception later on coz the open winner was ony racing domestic here in Aust)

Yep, U23's is a separate race now.
For the win, I don't know. Lapthorne has good form, Gerrans looked good at Willy but was keeping his powder dry IMO. Cooke has good form but I don't think he will get over the climb after 160km. O'Grady is going better than he is making out. Then there's blokes like Menzies, Will Walker and Hilton Clarke.
If I had to pick one rider I'd go with Allan Davis.

I think he might put too much pressure on himself.
I think Walker will win it from Gerrans.
Waited for you again Classic1 at 4:30am. Didnt show again. You missed a solid 150kay with an hour of sprint work too. Dissapointing. Even Albert trains harder than you. Are you sure you are Victorian? You weren't born in NSW were you?
Soft as butter.
Footnote: At the Bay crits I was impressed by Pearson in B grade (but not suprised he should of won the Warny last year as he had better legs on the day than any but couldnt get the right move to happen in the last 20km) and also Nick Mitchell who has my respect. In the Pros the stand out result was Richard England from VIS for mine.

I know Joel reasonably well and had a yap to him at Willy. He's capable of running a drum in A grade (and demonstrated it in the past with the guns there), and is nails. He had an op late last year on an artery in his leg that keeps farking up, poor bugger, so he gave up his ride in A grade. Did you go and watch any of the crits? If so, where?
You are tugging yourself about Lapthorne. His form is sensational. Why do you hate him? Did he knock you back for a root or something?
I rode to work today numbnuts. You were supposed to pick me up.

Nah I was out the other side. Shot through the city and out to willy, sunshine (farken stinks!), ascotvale, essendon etc etc then back home.
It is true I cant read road signs. Was cruising along one road and asked a fellow pedaller 'where does this road go?'. He said "Baccus Marsh mate'. Whoops!

Hey seppomadness, did I read right that a rello of yours (if memory serves me correctly) has picked up a ride with the Type1 squad for the 2008 season?
For the Aussie champs I reckon Alby will try and get away with a small bunch but will be closely watched to stop him doing so. Will Walker should be up there and I reckon Matthew Llloyd could be an outside chance.
