I'm actually pretty laid back in every area of my life except for anything money-related. But I manage money for a living, so I guess it's no surprise. I'm also a former IRS revenue agent so it bugs me to see people spreading misinformation. Sorry

It's not surprising your a former IRS agent spreading misinformation. Many of them do believe it or not.
Here's some more information to help you.
You should quit while your ahead.
"There are also three exceptions which may allow a donor to take an income tax deduction even though the donor has received something in exchange from the charity."
Here's a hint. They meet one of the exceptions .
Your inane argument doesn't even address the fact again that since NO DOCUMENTATION from the charity is required regarding the donation, 99.9999999999999999999999% of IRS agents are NOT going ask if goods or services were received in the course of a measly $12 donation by the donor. And IF the one .000000000000000000001% did ask there is an exception.
Happy now?

Says the fool to the former IRS auditor. Without even having to read the publication again, I'd say you looked at the "token exception" test and came to that conclusion, right? This situation fails that test.

All,
One of our crew members does a little modeling on the side so she was nice enough to let us put together an 11x17 wall calendar to sell to help raise money for our RAAM efforts.
Please check out www.360cycling.com/calendars.cfm for details....it is tax deductible.

1. The FMV of the benefits DOES exceed the lesser of 2% of the payment or $89, and
2. The payment is NOT at least $44.50

Sprocket Man - Go away. Instead of being concerned about the write off maybe you should check out the charity. If you don't want one then don't buy one.
OP - just purchased one. Mom had cancer so thanks for the fundraising effort.

Man, the Corp. for Public Broadcasting and its affiliates are so doomed. All those frickin' tote bags coffee mugs and other assorted crap they’ve given out over the years as thank-yous for tax deductible donations during their beg-a-thons...

I'm going to stay out of this, if you want to make another thread in P&R I'd be happy to oblige you by giving you the reasons you're wrong.
Until then, keep drinking the flavor-aid.

Not ride like you and I would think of it but she does own a bike. She and some of her friends have been known to help out at local crits; she has helped pin my numbers on before racing.....or maybe that was her friend Jessica.
Real nice woman though, she is helping place donation cans for me, hang flyers, sell calendars. Very cool

I just posted eight more pictures I like from the ride. They are not formatted completely for a calendar but if you like a picture and would like to have a calendar made from it, let me know and I'll finish it off and make a link. As far as the proportion of the image, they have been formatted to hit 11x17 portrait or landscape depending on the graphic. Again, these are low-res with watermark samples.
www.360cycling.com/calendars.cfm
If you are not serious about buying one, please don't make me go through the hassle of finishing it. Thanks.

so when you say she's a member of the crew, do you mean she's a member of the crew crew? or is she just helping out with things pre-race?
