Definitely hot, aside from the saddle pack and bars... Background could be better, too.

What's up with the DT lever for the front? Campy's front shifting is a fave for many, with good reason. BTW, you could use a hood from an Escape shifter on that gutted Ergo and just have an unused hole instead of an unused slit.

If I remember correctly, Campagnolo had 10spd record available with DT shifters and standard brake levers, or with Ergopower shifters..

I know they offered Record brake levers without any shift mechanism, because i had a pair. I purchased them NIB from Universal Cycles. Perhaps they were designed to be used with barend shifters.

That's less surprising than the DT shifters, but come to think of it, I seem to recall 10s Dura Ace DT shifters were a thing...

10 speed Dura-Ace DT shifters are definitely a thing. Some people convert Campagnolo bar -end shifters to DT, but that's completely different.

It's a little nod to the nineties when a lot op pro riders used this setup for mountain stages. Campagnolo made these brakelevers without shifting mechanism. They were called "Record TT" and originally intended for time trial bikes combined with bar-end shifters. The carbon downtube lever was made by BTP (the other parts are from an old Campagnolo Syncro DT shifter).

On Shimano-equipped bikes (Hampsten, Jalabert, Zulle, Armstrong, etc.) it was to allow more precise positioning of the front derailleur to prevent chain rub (this was an issue with the old 8- and 9-speed STI-lever) as well as some weight saving. Back in 1997 I ran a Shimano SLR-lever combined with an old RX-100 downtube shifter on my Bianchi which saved close to 70 grams. With Ergopower the chain rub wasn't an issue so on Campagnolo-equipped bikes it was mainly to shed some weight.

I'm 1m83 (6ft) which is by no means tall. The bike has a 16.5cm headtube and a 57cm toptube. I never bothered about the length of the seattube - I simply told the builder that I wanted a horizontal toptube - but centre of the BB to top of the saddle measures 78cm.



A color-matched saddlebag made by Corné Bouman at Cycle Leathers Corne. I know it is considered mandatory to show "hot" bikes without such accessories but I had just returned from a ride when I took those pics (hence the computer, used tires and mud). In the pic above I stuffed two spare tires, tirelevers and a minipump in a waterbottle.
