Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not sure about the upwards pointing stem, handlebar and brakelevers plus the wheels could do without decals but after that's fixed you're left with a ver appealing bike. Browniepoints for the 10sp Campagnolo

The wheels are a bit of a long story. They started out with the big bold HED, I trimmed them down to get the 'outlined' look. I decided to go no decal but whe I peeled them off I discovered that I scored the clearcoat and had to cover that up so I ordered new decals. Here is a picture of the original and one of the trimmed wheels. I would prefer no decal now the wheels would have to be buffed of re clear coated.

The stem is due to me getting old and not being able to ride more than a few hours with the stem level, and I am of the school that the drops are supposed to point at the rear hub. I will fix the stem when I find an TI Opera in a 58 cm.

I like the stenciled look of the decals better than the originals. That must have been tedious to fix.

I'd like them more if he had removed the "H", so they'd be ED wheels.

Speed isn't the problem, they just simply aren't stiff enough.

It bothers me that Pinarello puts ".com" on the seat tube. I could maybe accept that on some trendy new fixie frame, but an Italian maker with a heritage that goes back to 1952 should do better.

That reminds me of the ol'days when converting Specialized to Special Ed.. political correctness is overrated for mtb'ers back in the day.

Pretty sure that if they still do it it's just a small one on the chainstay these days.

That's from the early days of the internet when doing that was cool. Dates it pretty hard.

For now! I've never run tubeless before and the wheels came with Mavic's Yksion Pro UST tyres so I figured I'd give them a try. My tyre of choice is normally the Continental GP4000S II.

In that case, go for the "HE" option instead.

Same here. The gp4000s gave me more than twice the life and cost me half as much as my Yksions, but never having to deal with a flat on the road makes up a bit for that. Glass or goat head, just pull it out, spin the wheel and keep riding.

Funny story (or maybe not): When I ordered the Casati, among the colors shown on the website was a silvery blue example, which I wanted. Well, evidently something got lost in translation. When it arrived, the shop sent a photo, and it looked much brighter, but even more spectacular, I thought; it had that same bluish cast - just like the head tube in your photo, but all over. I get to the shop, and it's pearl white! At first I was disappointed, but white wasn't even one of the examples I'd seen. After I got over my initial dismay at it being "wrong," I realized I rather liked it, and I'm glad I didn't get the silver-blue I'd asked for.
