Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The Kestrel looks great! I don't see that brand too often.

Of course.. but you're supposed to pretend you don't use them and take them off for the photo.

I'm sure some will think the 2015 team issue Addict is too "NASCAR-y", but that bike is blazing fkin hot to me. Might as well take off the rear blinky, center logos over valve stems, and throw it in the big ring of course, but...

I can't help you with hating the product though. They make great products, but now I'm also a little tired of they way they are treating companies that buy their tubing.

They gave me some hoops a few years ago, but now the have gotten a bit full of themselves.
Back in the middle 2000s when I lived in Utah, we were sort of proud of this company being just down the road from Logan. Neat stuff for sure, but then and now, I feel that the price of the product is super high. Sure, lots of engineering and RnD go into what they make, which I appreciate, but $3000 + for a set of wheels, just like Zipp, is a lot of money. I run some Boyd 44 Carbon wheels that cost about 1/3 of the price of ENVE wheels. I would not suggest that Boyds are 1/3 the quality or engineering of the ENVE wheels.

manufacturing costs are higher for ENVE hoops(US made) and spoke holes are not drilled. They definitely cost more to produce, and are higher quality, but the price difference is still a little much.

I purchased a wheelset from Workswell recently, but haven't ha a chance to use the yet. I am curious to see if I notice a difference other that weight on the scale.

FWIW, I would have bought the Boyd clinchers if this set of ENVE wheels hadn't come up in brand new condition at a lower cost than new Boyds. Yes, ENVE are expensive, but hell yes I'm going to take them when they fall in my lap for cheap!

Very cool staging. As it is not a road bike, can't vote.

My old bike shop used to carry Scott, and when I was thinking about getting a new race bike, this was one I was seriously considering. Turns out that at the time, the shop was clearing out their stock of Scott and weren't going to be carrying them any more. And they had no such bike in stock. SO disappointing, but things worked out in the end.

Good times. Except the pics seem to be gone. It's exactly what it sounds like, though.

Thanks. I totally winged-it on the gray tape. Gum walls with disc have some sort of strange old/new thing going on that works. This is a fantastic "do it all bike", I'm a huge fan, looking for excuses to ride it before CX season as I've had it since January and only ridden it twice.

It's an old frame and I've posted it before but I got a new set of wheels so I'm posting it again and in the other thread as well. I figure red, white, and black will be back in style in about another 10 years . And for what I've put into upgrading this bike, I probably would have been better off just buying a new one, but perhaps a new frame is in order next year
