Honestly, I think that if you're going to buy an AL bike, there are two really good ones you can get.
The CAAD9 if you're interested in mostly crits/a few road races, and the S1 if you can have just one bike and you're interested in TT's and long breaks.
The S1 is a little more pricey though, but I would have loved one of those.
Edit: That interview was a little painful...
