Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's been raining out so much lately...Some fenders for my Marinoni, some new yellow Zegho's, some emergency sealant for the tubs and I thought I would try out one of these Halo things as I sweat buckets when the sun comes out... I also ordered some ENVE 3.4 clinchers that should be here next week.

Koolstop Brake pad (salmon) inserts.

Then,

Koolstop Brake Pads with holder, because I didn't do my research...and I think I stripped a screw trying to remove my Tektro pads.

Bought one of these:

to put on this:

because the first RD (XT shadow) I'd bought won't work with the jtek shiftmate I have on order to mate up the Campagnolo Veloce with the Shimano 10sp in the back.

Ready to have this new gravel rig on the road... err... gravel.

This but in black. Works like a charm except a few days ago after 4 miles it decided to restart the computer set up out of the blue. I started turning it on every day even if I'm not riding to see if it will help. Good so far.

Picked up a matched set of Camelbak insulated bottles and a Topeak saddle bag.

The bag didn't work with my set-up and I swapped it for this Bontrager bag.

The insulation on those things is brilliant. I still have ice in my bottle 2 hours into a ride on a 90deg evening. But the seal around the lid can leak, which really sucks if you've got something sticky in there.

I just got a pair of these at cost from the LBS;

Owner got them for his Mrs and she didn't want 'em.

I fill my camelback bottles with a little water and stick'em in the freezer...then fill with cold water before I leave along with more ice. Seems to do the trick.
