Actually this is the road behind, after the steepest climb I've ever done. I walked up part of it. :-( Took this just before descending, which was crazy fast. I thought I was gonna burn out my rear brakes. Yep, baby steps. The location is Coleman Valley Road on the Sonoma County coast in Northern California.

Someone should make a separate thread for empty road ahead photos from California (or maybe the west coast generally). There's no competing with that.

Hermitage Rd out in the western suburbs of Richmond, VA out near Manakin-Sabot, VA.
(I quickly turned around behind me, and took the photo of the quiet, peaceful, road)
Here's a better one, "looking ahead" as per the title of this thread. This is Snead Rd (which is just a little further up the road in the other photo). It's a real quiet backwoods type road..

Governor St. Climb in Richmond tonight. Cleared and paved for the UCI worlds. Rode up the last bit of the course, going to be quite the sprint finish.

Boyne City. I grew up in Petoskey area and travelled these back roads. This one is on the backside of the old abandoned '60s ski resort "Walloon Hills" (now Challenge Mt).

Oh wow, you're way up there! I've done a little snowboarding up at Boyne Mountain but that was ages ago. I bet riding up there is absolutely gorgeous!
