Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No eloquent words, no deeply philosophical thoughts. . .

I am saddened not only by his passing, but by the hole that has been created in the lives of his family and friends. I will pray for TCR and his loved ones.

I knew one such that took 3 months before he could get back in the cab, he never was the same. And no, there was nothing he could do to avoid the impact.

Stop what you are doing. go outside, look at the sheer beauty around you, if you have a wife or husband, maybe kids... Give them a huge hug and tell them you love them. Life is so short and yet so fragile, we just dont think about it. Im 36 and I realize that half my life is over and just last night I was telling my daughters about my last day of school in the 3rd grade and that I remembered exactly what I did the day I came home that day 27 years ago. It just seems like a little while ago.

Spend your time wisely, slow down, turn the TV off and sit in the middle of the floor and play monopoly with the entire family. One day, it will all be over.

RIP TCR, I remember you.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

And I believe it's time to unstick this thread. Again, condolences to TCR's family and friends.

Whoa, I remember him from years ago.

I still remember when sydney got killed by a teen, who was texting while driving. That wasn't so long ago.

I agree. Surely, no one was complaining about it. TCR could be a bit prickly at times, but it was always in good fun. And he was an active member here for several years. 30 days is not so much to ask, or expect.

I am the op and I asked Tom to unsticky the thread. It seemed everyone had a chance to post something and thanks for all the words of respect from the members. Let's hope we don't have to do this again anytime soon.

I suggested that it be stickied in the first place. I think most everyone has seen it now, and had a chance to pay respects at this point.

If not, it may get bumped for awhile, which will take care of any issue.

He could be a downright PITA - he and I just didn't get along. Still, you hate to see someone taken so young.
