Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

why don't you losers ask your bike companies why they don't make bikes instead of buying bikes from asian sellers? how about investing in some carbon fiber factories? no guts to take business risk.
Since you implicitly directed that at me, I'll reply. I don't need to ask these companies why they moved their factories, because I already know. Lower wages means more profit. You're the one whining like a clown. Why don't you post on-topic instead of calling others losers that you nothing nothing about

I'm not mad, Asian or offended by your comments. I was just stating a fact. Anyone surprised that something purchased at Walmart is made in Asia and not USA is ignorant.

moved? they never had carbon production facilities in any great number to start with. giant in taiwan invested first and got the head start and your boys didn't follow suit instead they bought from taiwanese makers instead of investing to compete. so clearly you do not know anything about this industry.

so you whine that it is about low wages when it is about having the facilities and skills. how do you think trek does so well? they make their own bikes so they can compete.

You guys are fighting in a thread that had been dead for over a year and only became active b/c it was nominated for a "Hall of Fame" that is about dumb threads.

Think about it.

Definition of NATIONALISM

1
: loyalty and devotion to a nation; especially : a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups
2
: a nationalist movement or government
Examples of NATIONALISM

The war was caused by nationalism and greed.
<Nazism's almost epic nationalism appealed to downtrodden Germans still suffering the humiliation of being defeated in World War I.>

Guys when I said my bike was made in Taiwan I was looking at my tires. I just looked at the front derailler and it said made in China on my frame. Is this bad? I thought it was American and I paid 600 for my bike. My LBS did this to me. The LBS guy said I could get 30mph so I bought it.

I thought my bike was American and saw Taiwan so I did search for Taiwan and found this thread. You got a problem with that? My frame is Chinese. Yea my next bike will be American because Im proud to be an American.
