The Schwalbe's seem to be made for grip, and I really like the road feel I get from them. I can't see getting excessive mileage out of them tho...

Same bike...I noticed the same thing at about the same mileage. I now have >500 miles on the bike and the front tire is still showing tread in the middle. The rear however has no tread at all in the middle of the tire. And today I got into a situation where I had to brake hard. I ended up locking the rear wheel for maybe one second. There is now a small but visible "skid patch" on that rear tire.

Yeah, the Luganos do have some grip to them but I won't be purchasing the same tires ever, unless I can get the Luganos really cheap. I currently don't do any racing. I need to find out if there are any races going on within the area I live at. Maybe then will I purchase race tires.

I've already tasted of the Dura Ace.
I don't know if I can go back without seeing "Dura Ace" on my parts.
BUT!
I would consider going with a SRAM Red drivetrain (shifters + derailleurs).
Would they work with a Shimano cassette/chain/rings?

No can do.
Not compatible with 7800.
EDIT:
7900 "is" compatible with rear 7800 derailleur (which seems to be preferred to 7900),
but not 7800 front derailleur. That'll have to be switched up to 7900.

Been away a day or 2. Looking back at the CADD9 post,,,,,,,,,,,, I have a 8 and a 9 and have had some time on the 10. Call me crazy but I keep going back to my 8..... I love the 9, it's sharp clean.
The 10 rides like the 9 but that 8, For some reason, I am just so comfortable. This 8, it just feels one with me. I think the 8 may be the unsung under dog of the CADDs so far.
No knocks about the brooks. The 8 is my come-fee bike. The 9 is for showing my Arss.

That's exactly what it was designed to be; more comfortable than the 9.

Luganos are terrible tyres and they are not grippy at all. Don't let the tread pattern fool you. They also generate so much rolling resistance that they feel like you are cycling through molasses or something. I put about 2.5k kms on mine before putting a gp4000s on the front. Instant improvement. I am now running the Lugano on the back. Getting close to 4k kms and it still has quite a bit rubber left but it has really squared off. When this one dies I have the one that used to be on the front hanging on the wall. TBH I am looking forward to chewing through them both so I can justify running gp4000s on front and back.

My CAAD10-5 the rear stock rs10 is making a cracking noise but it is so random, i am wondering what could it be? pawls?, tension on the spokes?

Has anyone owned/compared the 2010 Caad9 and the new 2012 Caad 10? How's the ride quality between the 2? I'm debating if I should sell my caad9 frameset and transfer components to the new caad10 or keep the caad9 and build the caad10.

My R500 wheelset stocked with my CAAD9 (training set) does the same thing. But it's random enough and the wheel spins true so I'm holing off on taking it in.
I doubt it's the pawls.

I'm in love w/ this bike. I think it's super hot and has a bit of personality. Love the cranks and the gumwall tires. Would love to rip thru a crit course on that thing...
