Cervelo S2 w/ Ultegra for $2k.
My buddy just got an RS and I took a spin ride on an S2. 2011 model. The guy at the shop was willing to honor the $1k off for me for the remainder of the month. The S2 in question was full Ultegra, MSRP of $4,000. They were selling it at $3,200, and then after the $1,000 discount, an even further discount he offered, and free stuff, it came out to about $2,000.
I guess I'm just looking for feedback, as I'm skeptical, because with the current buy 2 deal, is this even really THAT good of a deal? Any suggestions as to comparable alternatives at that price point? The only thing I've really considered otherwise is a BH Prisma from my team shop, which would run slightly more expensive ($200-$300) more than the S2.
Thanks for your input.

well if your getting a deal like that from Trek SS, its not from the Vista store....they don't like to hand out deals. I like the one down near Kerny, though I'm closer to vista.

I'm basically trying to just convince myself into going and getting it, suppose I just wanted a little validation. I suppose N+1 should be enough validating! I know it's a pretty good deal. Thanks for the input everyone.

That's a smoking deal. Jump on it before they say they made a mistake. I have a brand new 2010 S2 with full Ultegra sitting in my den since purchase. Now wondering how much it's worth.

Out of curiosity, where did you purchase that bike (city/region will be fine if you don't want to disclose the actual bike shop name)?

As great as the deal is and as much as I like the bike, that front cable entrance into the frame for internal routing looks horrible. Enjoy the bike tho

I can imagine. I would play around with the cables so they are not sticking up so much. Maybe have them exit the bar tape on the bottom of the handlebar and shorten the housing so it kind of runs along either side of the stem. The only problem that could come up is extra friction if the cable is bent to much. I don't remember the brand but I've seen a bike where the cables enter on each side of the head tube, near the front. it looks very clean. Wish Cervelo did that.
