Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If only my bike were aluminum instead of steel this would be just the thread for me. Oh well, I guess I'll have to start my own "Post Your 1999-2001 steel frame bicycle size 52-56 Thread/Hot or Not" thread.

It was a great ride until fall of 2002 when someone decided to turn her car in front of me while I was doing 30 mph down a hill. Luckily, I somehow came out with only some road rash and a very sprained shoulder. The bike was not so lucky with a cracked head tube rendering it unsafe to ride. Eight years later, I finally put it in the dumpster. Parting is such sweet sorrow.

I still think it's a great color.

Beautiful. Love the sloping top tube. That's a requirement for "HOT".
