Newbie question. Weak points of my bike?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Newbie question. Weak points of my bike?

I am new to road bikes and really anything over a 700 dollar bike. I bought a 2012 Cannondale SuperSix Ultegra Di2 and would like to know what are the weak points that I might want to replace. I didn't know anything about the bike when I bought it because i was looking at cheaper bikes but I got a great deal on this bike. From reading the clydesdale forum I am guessing wheels and tires since I am 240 right now but I am losing weight and I don't have many hills in miami except bridges. So far i like the bike and my body is getting better adjusted to being on a bike the more I ride. I am sure this is asked by many but I haven't been able to find much in this bike from anyones experience.

You're kidding right? Why do you think there are any weak points in a high-end spec'd bike?

Ride it and replace anything you don't like over time, but any bike with a Di2 group should be pretty well spec'd out.

Jealous!

I am just curious and have questioned my purchase. I haven't had any problems and really don't expect to but would like to know what to expect.

Do you know the definition of "troll" ?
Is there a term for accidental trolling ? Maybe Fred+Troll = Froll ?

ultegra is heavy. Dump that *** and put SRAM Red on there.

Post pics when you're done.

Assuming this is a legit question for now...the Supersix gets pretty good reviews around here and yours is the current top of the line. If your wheels frequently go out of true then think about switching them but if not just keep riding it as is. If you want to switch stuff later then make that call on what *you* feel you want to change.

There is only one weak point on the bike. The rider.

Ride more, worry less.

Thanks for the replies. I am not trying to troll. I posted being serious. I was interested in a the super six ultegra without di2 and the madone 5.2 but was offered this bike for about the same price because it was what was in stock. Sorry to be an inconvenience

Nice bike. It's spec'd out pretty well now, so ride and enjoy.

Thanks for replies. I am bike ignorant and being in the electrical field the bike was intriguing to me. I know I am the weakest point as stated but hopefully I won't be forever. This probably wasn't the best way to introduce myself and realize I belong in the clydesdale forum. I am riding by myself at this time and need to learn more about road biking so I posted here. I will not worry anymore and will continue to enjoy riding and will not ask anything until something breaks.

That's an impressive bike for a first bike. It's very light, it's ultegra and it shifts for you. Unless you find the seat is uncomfortable, you don't need anything. I'm sooooo jealous!

The weakest link on that bike, considering you call yourself a newbie ... is definately: YOU.
Worry about upgrading yourself rather than upgrading your bike.

UUuuummmmm....You gotta be kidding. Dude...you have an awesome bike spec'd to the gills. If serious, maybe the wheels at your 240 weight, heavy but durable, like Aksiums or Neuvation M series, although not an upgrade, a side step should we say

What size is that bike? Is it really your best fit, or do you have shorter legs than usual for someone your height?

That is a kick ass bike. I wouldn't do a thing to it. I think those wheels will handle that weigh fine. If not look into upgrading or actually downgrading to a heavier higher spoke count set. But honestly I think they will be fine. When I started off I weighed a little more than that -I am still heavy - 6'4/230. And I have never had a problem on stock bikes (but I've also never had a bike spec'ed out with all lightweight/high end stuff) Just keep your tires inflated high - 120psi rear and 110psi front - and you will be fine.

I have short legs and long torso. This is the first bike except bmx bikes I had as a kid i could flat foot with both feet. It seems to be the right size and feels more comfortable as i continue to ride. Its a 50cm

Pretty sure the bike has an alloy handlebar. That is the only realistic upgrade since a clyde shouldn't be on wheels weaker or lighter than ksyrium elite.

But that's a technicality. It is a very high spec bike and you should ride and enjoy.

Btw you saddle is too low if you can flat foot both feet. That would make your knees too bent while riding.

Raise the saddle and learn how to mount & dismount properly.. your knees will thank you and you'll be much more powerful as well.

I can't flat foot while on the seat but I think I can raise the seat another inch or so because I have adjusted my position in the saddle as I have ridden more. I was fitted when I purchased the bike but it was just a visual fit.

You have a CAAD with Di2. There is nothing you need to change. Just ride it. Many folks here would glady trade bikes with you.

Sweet bike. If you are slow on that it isn't the bike that is keeping you back. I would make sure you are fit properly, maybe take it by an LBS and have them check you over, and then just ride the heck out of it. Adjust what is needed to be comfy and check the wheels periodically for truing issues. Other than that, ride a bunch.

Of course, remember to charge the battery on that electronic groupset every so often.
