Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looking for first road bike, Trek 610- any thoughts?

Hi I just posted about a Panasonic DX1000, I am set up to go and test ride that one on Saturday, but want to have another option in case it is a bit too small. Found this bike and am wondering if anyone knows if it is a good bike/good deal?

Its a Trek 610... here's the info on it:

Trek 610 Classic Road Bike, Reynolds 531CS All original including full Shimano 600 Groupo, Has a few minor blemishes, frame/fork are 9/10. Rides great, $300

And the link to view photos: https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3236873392.html

Thanks!

Warning, when a Craglist bike is a good one, The First Person to look at it will Buy it.

You best be looking at the first one.

The one I posted earlier was from yesterday. This one just appeared on CL a few hours ago and I emailed them right away. It's a good bike I take it? haha

Not sure it's worth $300, but a 610 was my first road bike. Classic Trek steel are good, durable frames...
